Awesome wedding catering suppliers

Before he became my boyfriend my husband spent a long time in the friend zone.

What can I say? Treat em’ mean keep em’ keen. (Or more accurately in my case, just be completely oblivious).

A major milestone in the collection of ‘stories-about-us’ is the day of the vegetarian lasagna.

Lasagna made from scratch takes a long time to prep. Little did I know he spent the whole time dreading having to eat it. He had never tried vegetarian lasagna before and assumed no meat = worst food ever.

Having been a vegetarian for 9 years at that point, I was not especially fussed about the meal either. Vegetarian lasagna is the staple of terrible meals tacked on to the bottom of menus that everyone at the table points out to you like your vegetarianism somehow also means you’ve gone blind.

But guess what?

IT WAS THE BEST VEGETARIAN LASAGNA IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. EVER.

I couldn’t tell you what I was wearing or what day it was and only have a vague recollection of what we had done prior in the day. But eight years later and we still both remember that vegetarian lasagna.

It really doesn’t take as much as you think to make a lasting impression.

You really can’t go wrong if you’re serving delicious food at your wedding. Your guests will be happy, you will be happy – it really is the biggest and easiest wedding win.

Here for you are just some awesome wedding caterers I came across last year:

You don’t really need to hear my take on Something for Catering when a bride had this to say:

Something for Catering have the most amazing food van they do all the food service out of and it looks unreal as well. These guys were phenomenal. Food was sensational and the service of all their staff was impeccable.

Still. I won’t deprive you of my two cents:

Something for Catering had me at sustainable local produce. They sealed the deal with the fact that they can pretty much do everything – numerous menus, beverage options, glassware and crockery hire and wait staff. Tick, tick, tick!

AL’FRESH CO

Everyone’s been talking about Alastair McLeod’s new venture Al’Fresh Co. I’d hire him just for the big smile and the Irish accent!

His facebook feed is just photo after photo of amazing food. It’s hard not to eat my computer screen.

I know I must be a very shallow person when I think “who cares about the food, how sexy is that van!?!”

I don’t know what it is. Is it the van? Is it Dan? Is it a bit of both?

Seriously though. The Van Fine Street Food is the quintessential example of timing + talent + killer execution = freakin’ perfection.

(Quintessential is a big word for me so I had to drop the ‘g’ on ‘freaking’ to balance things out. All is right with the universe once again).

Apparently The Van Fine Street Food was a half-baked concept (like what I did there?) that took two years to realise. Worth the wait in my book.

WINE & DINE’M CATERING

When I met with Wine & Dine’m Catering at the beginning of this year, I walked away thinking yes, yes they get it!

Yummy food + furniture hire + all the wait staff you need PLUUUUSSSS they can give you a hand with set up. That is a crazy big plus and will make your wedding planning oh so much easier.

Wine & Dine’m Catering had a crazy big year. You can see what they’ve been up to here >

Now as much as I would like to, my pants won’t allow me to sample all the wedding catering options available in Australia.
