I was controversial and didn't even know it. You see, on the Wedding Planning Masterclass Instagram, I share real wedding cost post - actual invoices and inclusions from wedding suppliers all across Australia.
You might be surprised with the variety of reactions I've received to these - not from couples, but from other industry suppliers. Apart from the odd nod of gratitude at my efforts to educate (thank you for the support!), it'll be either one of two reactions:
"That cost you shared is WAY too LOW"
"That cost you shared is WAY to HIGH".
Yep. So what's the deal when even our industry doesn't agree? (Ironically, as I recorded this podcast I got a message in my inbox about my Instagram post that day. It was all good - instead of feeling like it was an attack on me personally, I opened myself up to understanding their point of view, listened, and we came up with some good ways I can improve and be clearer in what I'm sharing, which I'm excited about so it worked out well! Demonstrating that you'll always find a win if everyone approaches things from a positive, empathetic point of view).
Today I wanted to explore with you why some businesses charge what they charge, and why there can be such extreme differences in supplier pricing (from $350 to $1800 for a wedding celebrant - what the f is the difference!?!?!).
